Following the unexpected death of the Pope, British Cardinal Thomas Lawrence finds himself entrusted with the critical task of managing the papal election. As hopeful cardinals flock to Vatican City from the four corners of the earth, a subtle power game begins behind the closed doors of the Sistine Chapel. Soon, the voting starts, and four frontrunners emerge. However, personal beliefs and nuances of conspiracy and foul play create an air of intrigue within the sequestered conclave. Sworn to secrecy yet caught up in a vortex of doubt and weighty secrets, the well-respected Dean of the College of Cardinals must confront human weaknesses and damaging rumours to protect the delicate decision-making process.
