Obayd Zakani (693-771 AH) was a great Iranian poet, writer, and satirist of the 8th century AH. He was born in Qazvin and lived and worked there. Obayd was a pioneer of satire in Persian literature and his works, including Mouse and Cat, are considered to be masterpieces of satirical literature.
