Surah Dukhan is the forty-fourth surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is located in chapter 25. This surah is called Dukhan because its tenth verse speaks of a punishment called Dukhan (smoke) for unbelievers.

Surah Dukhan introduces the Qur'an revealed on the night of Qadr and warns the unbelievers who doubt the Qur'an of punishment. In this surah, there is also the story of Prophet Moses and the people of Israel and the people of Pharaoh.

About the reward of reciting Surah Dukhan, among other things, it has been narrated from the Prophet (PBUH) that whoever recites Surah Dukhan on Friday night, his sins will be forgiven. In the book Mufatih al-Junan, one of the acts of the night of 23rd Ramadan is the recitation of Surah Dukhan.
