Surah Ankabut is the twenty-ninth surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is located in the twenty-first chapter. The name of the spider is taken from a simile in verse 41 of this sura. This surah talks about monotheism, God's signs in creation, fighting polytheism, and to comfort the few Muslims at the beginning of Islam, it has reported the fate of some previous prophets. Surah Ankabut also talked about the greatness of the Qur'an and the reasons for the truthfulness of the Prophet (PBUH) and the stubbornness of the opponents. One of the famous verses of Surah Ankabut, verse 41 and 57, is that in the first one, God has compared the story of unbelievers relying on idols to a spider and a spider's loose house, and in the second one, he has warned that every human being will taste death and return to God. About the virtue of reciting this Surah, among other things, it has been narrated from the Prophet (PBUH) that anyone who recites Surah Ankabut will be given ten good deeds equal to the number of all the believers and all the hypocrites. Also, according to Imam Sadiq (a.s.), the reward of reciting Surah Rum and Surah Ankabut on the night of the 23rd of Ramadan is heaven, and these two surahs have a great place in the eyes of God.
