Surah Balad is the 90th surah and one of the Meccan surahs of the Qur'an, which is included in the thirtieth part of the Qur'an. This surah begins with the oath to Balad - which refers to the land of Mecca; That is why it is called Balad. In Surah Balad, God talks about the fact that human life in the world is constantly mixed with suffering, and in another part, by counting some blessings, he points out the ungratefulness of humans in front of these blessings. In Surah Balad, the most valuable human actions are liberating slaves, feeding and helping the poor. In virtue of reciting this Surah, it has been quoted from the Prophet (PBUH) that whoever recites Surah Balad, God will protect him from His wrath on the Day of Resurrection.
